Using figured Walnut for the case sides gives it a distinguished look and richness that will last. This wood is difficult to work with, but the benefits are well worth the effort.
Tool Chest - Figured Black Walnut, Cherry, Brass
Constructed and carefully designed for its contents, this chest elegantly houses a collection of woodworking tools, making it a very functional object, as well as eye-catching.
The outer case is constructed with through-dovetails at each corner, joinery that has been proven with time. Kept from the elements, this case will hold strong for several hundred years.
Even the back of this chest was thought-out. Maple ship-lapped panels were chosen for color and proportion, then fitted with beads along each edge for a decorative look.
